I was rudely awoken by a cat invader this morning, who had a very loud voice and ripped a hole in my husband's pajama top when he dared to suggest that it might find it easier to get out the way it came in rather than through our locked first floor bedroom window.

So, since I couldn't get back to sleep, coming on dA and deleting all my outstanding messages seemed like the next logical step. Time will tell if it was or not :lol:

I just installed poser 8 (I've had it for a while sitting on my harddrive) and I am trying to make an image with it. I got off to a shaky start - every time I wanted to render, it wanted to crash so completely windows didn't even ask me if I wanted to report a problem - but I think I'm beginning to get used to it. Possibly.

In other news, a friend of mine asked me to take photos of her band, and so I am trying to practice taking photos of actual people. Since the only person I normally have to hand is my husband, he is getting forced to pose a lot but is taking it with very good grace. I think I will see if I can move on to his family next... ...in the meantime, if you have any advice for photographing people or bands in particular, please let me know :love:

Okay, ramble over for now. How are you? :love:

I hate when stuff like that happens but at least you were productive :)

High Shutter speed really helps, and you would need a lens that has a large aperture so that it can capture the light of the stage a bit better. That's just me though. ^_^;

:nod: the best I have a 50mm f/1.8 which I've used to take photos of them in the past; I had to put the iso speed up quite a lot too so they came out a bit grainy but they were fine for the web and the lighting looked nice.

Are the band photos going to be posed, or are you going to a live performance? Either way, I'd just say try to represent all the members equally. Maybe a couple more of the "band leader" in front, but mostly try to get shots of all of them separately and as equals in a group :shrug: I dunno if that helps...

I'm going to do them posed; I've taken some at their gigs in the past and I will again (`RockstarVanity's just linked me up with some good tutorials for gig photography) but I think they need some more general shots with all the members of the band. I think yours is very good advice though, I'll be sure to check that I actually have photos of all of them, not just think I have :lol:

Hmm I don't know much about concert photography, nor do I know about cats.

Just try your best and live with it.
